River Cruising in Europe

River cruises are the one of the most popular holidays these days, for the last few years the industry has been growing at a rapid rate. There is now a huge demand from holiday makers wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, they want to relax onboard a fabulous cruise boat and forget about all the stress for a while. Some of the most popular river cruises in France are sold out and booked well in advance. Cruises used to be seen as something that only older folk went on, this is no longer the case! People of all ages are now booking up their river cruise holidays, the tour operators have adapted and started to entice a younger clientele to join the cruises. They have done this by offering all sorts of activities and also making cruises seem more hip – and they certainly are. I have been on a couple of cruises now and I enjoyed every moment, you can kick back and relax because everything is taken care of for you. Here are the main reasons why I think everyone should hop on board a river cruise at least once.

It is all inclusive!

Every part of your holiday is paid for in advance, so you don’t need to worry about bringing mountains of cash with you. Usually the following is included; meals, drinks, activities, excursions and airport transfers. Basically everything is included from the moment you land at your destination to the time you are delivered back to the airport to fly home. Well, there are one or two obvious things that aren’t included such as the spa, hairdresser and laundry service.

The excursions

I mentioned above that they are all paid for in the price of your holiday, that is such a good deal that I had to tell you about them again! You will get to go ashore and see some fantastic places. Don’t think you’re going to get some cheap tour either, the buses that are used are all modern and spotless, the bikes that you can use are all quality and will not let you down.

The Food

You will eat every day in the dining area, it is a great opportunity to meet people that you will be travelling with for the week (or longer). But, that’s not the best part! The best part is that the food is excellent, it is usually locally sourced so you will be able to try different types of cuisine depending on which area of the world you are in. The food is all included in the price, the tour operators do not cut corners and make sure that you are well fed, they use some fantastic ingredients!
