Lots of people will be heading to the Aintree racecourse to enjoy everything that the festival has to offer, I cannot recommend going to watch the festival highly enough! You will see some of the best races in the world, have great entertainment on offer but also experience the real thrill of this unique race.

If you are planning to visit then I have listed some top tips for to follow to make sure that you have the time of your life!

Take care of yourself

You want to make sure that you are able to watch as much of the racing as possible and soak up the atmosphere for as long as possible. To do this is easy, but some of us forget the simple things. Get a good night’s sleep the night before and eat well, make sure you don’t drink alcohol because you wanted to be clear headed for the big day!

Stay hydrated

A lot of people like to enjoy a beer at the festival, so they should. It is a moment that everyone has been looking forward to and a beer makes you feel more relaxed, what you should not forget is that you need to stay hydrated. So make sure you drink lots of water throughout the day, this becomes even more important if the sun is shining!

Dress for the occasion

You don’t always have to look like a movie star on the red carpet but it is always good to put in a little bit of effort. Remember that you should be prepared for both sunshine and rain, e never know what the Great British weather will throw at us! Ladies, don’t forget ‘Ladies Day’ where if you dress up you will get a free good bag for your troubles.

Just the ticket

Of course you are going to need a ticket to get into the race track so make sure that you buy it from a registered company or a trusted source. Nothing ruins your day more than turning up to the race track only to be turned away because your ticket is invalid or fake. Pay close attention at the booking stage because the rest of your trip hinders on that all important ticket!
